Paul Kooperman is a prolific screenwriter.
His feature script Wil was produced in 2006 and had a limited independent release in Australia, screening at The Classic and the Nova in Melbourne. Wil won Best Picture at the Independents Film Festival in Florida, Best Director at the Rhode International Film Festival and received Official Selection at the Hollywood Film Festival, Cardiff Film Festival and others.
Paul was an inhouse writer for Stacey Testro (EP of the SAW horror films) in 2006. Paul has worked as a writer for Home and Away and as a Script Co-ordinator for The Wedge, Wicked Science 2 and StreetSmartz.
He lectures in screenwriting and has two books published on how to write films.
In addition to screenwriting, Paul has also been commissioned to undertake a number of other writing assignments including a set of three books entitled ‘Plays Across the Curriculum’, by Macmillan Education (published September 2008) and a musical, called Woman on Top, for which he raised the finance for script development and a workshop production scheduled for 2009.
Paul has most recently been awarded a CAL (Copyright Agency Limited) professional development grant to attend a Writing Festival in Singapore, hosted by Word Forward, in order to run workshops on screenwriting and mentor young writers who attend the festival.
