John Carroll is professor of sociology at La Trobe University in Melbourne. His recent books include, The Existential Jesus (2007), and new editions of Ego and Soul (2008) and The Wreck of Western Culture: humanism revisited (2010). All have sold in the US, the first two to Counterpoint Press and the latter to ISI Books. The Wreck of Western Culture has sold in Italian, Arabic, Dutch and Chinese and The Existential Jesus has sold in Italian and Hungarian.
