In the year 2065, 16 year olds Evie and Raffy live in a city where evil no longer exists. After a war on terror that almost destroyed the world, one man creates The City where all its’ citizens unknowingly have brain surgery to insure that they are incapable of doing wrong. The borders of the city are protected behind a fortified wall, where no one can enter or leave. Outside The City walls live the Evils; humans deemed unfit to live within The City.
Evie and Raffy are childhood friends who now work for the government. It is Evie’s job to assign labels to every citizen within The System. The labels determine each citizen’s ranking in society—an ‘A’ is a model citizen and a ‘D’ is a citizen who is subsequently shunned. If a citizen is given the dread ‘K’, which stands for ‘Killable’, they are subsequently banned from the city to live with The Evils.
Evie and Raffy think there must be a mistake when someone they know has been given the label ’K’. For his own further secretive investigations into The System; the next person to receive this mark is Raffy. Now Evie must do everything she can to save him.
