After studying at Oxford Kathleen McCall received a diversity bursary from the BBC to study for an MA before moving to Delhi, where she reported for the BBC World Service, as well as writing for the Guardian Books Online, Newsweek and Time Out. She also wrote her first novel and learnt yoga.
