The artistic career of Ennio Morricone, born in Rome in 1928, is unlike any other in the history of music. After studying the trumpet and composition under Goffredo Petrassi, Morricone became worldfamous as the composer of the music for Sergio Leone’s westerns. Since the 1960s he has worked with the leading film directors and his music has become part of the soundtrack of our lives. At the same time, he has composed more than a hundred works of ‘absolute music’ and conducted many leading orchestras, from the Accademia di Santa Cecilia to the London Symphony, winning many prestigious awards, such as the Golden Lion and the Honorary Oscar.

Antonio Monda生於羅馬的政治世家，在美國紐約大學藝術學院授課，對於藝術和文學方面有相當程度研究，身兼導演、教師、作家及記者等身份，是美國與義大利藝術訊息及發展的重要媒介。目前擔任義大利許多報章雜誌媒體的駐外特派員。
