About the Author/作者介绍： 早乙女贡（Mitsugu Saotome）出生于中国的哈尔滨，他的祖父是日本人。他很小的时候就开始在同龄杂志出版小说以及历史故事，建立了自己的声望。之后，在这领域稳固之后，他开始专注日本文学。1968年凭借《旅行者的牢笼》（The Cage of the Traveller）获得了Naoki奖。

Mitsugu Saotome was born in Harbin, China. He won the Naoki Prize for his 1968 Kyojin no ori (The Cage of the Traveler). From an early age he published his period fiction and historical tales in peer-published journals, building a name in the process. As he built a body of work in the period fiction field, he came to focus on Japan’s Warring States period and the transition from the pre-modern Tokugawa to the modern Meiji (1868-1912) era. Saotome has a special affection for Aizu, where his grandfather was from, and has set novels like Okeiand Aizu shikon (The Warrior Spirit of Aizu) in this region.
