BEYOND THE BEAR: GRIZZLY LESSONS IN LIFE AND LOVE
It was a beautiful July day in 2003 when 25 yearold Dan Bigley, a 6’4’’ outdoorsman with green eyes and an easy smile, set out for a day of salmon fishing on Alaska’s famed Russian River. Dan was brimming with happiness. He had a job he loved, he’d just made a down payment on his dream home, a rustic cabin with a million dollar view, and he’d woken that morning with his new girlfriend Amber in his arms. He was living the life he’d always imagined...but that life would be brutally altered in a matter of moments. A grizzly bear came crashing through the trees straight toward him. Dan dove off the trail, but it was too late. The attack was fierce and unrelenting. As Dan fought for his life, he promised himself that if he survived he’d never look back and regret it. He didn’t know the mauling had destroyed his eyes.
No one would have blamed Amber for leaving Dan, but she stayed by his side. In spite of the tragedy, family drama, paralyzing pain and inconceivable loss, Dan and Amber fell in love all over again, and Amber’s strength inspired Dan to meet the challenges of his new life.
Their unforgettable true story is one of courage, spirit and tenacious will. It’s the most uplifting story you’ll read this year.
Chinese Summary/
