Gray Joliffe started his career as an advertising copywriter but became a cartoonist and illustrator in 1986, working on such titles as One Man and His Bog. His Up and Running cartoon has appeared in the Daily Mail since 1997 - the same year that Gray was voted Cartoonist of the Year - though he is most well-known for his illustrations in the Wicked Willie books, which have sold over 5 million copies worldwide.
