English Summary/英文概要： Bologna, A.D. 1311. In the middle of the night, the corpse of a man who has been killed in an horrible way is brought for examination to Mondino de’Liuzzi, surgeon and anatomist at the Studium (University) of Bologna.
When Mondino opens up the bosom of the man, he realizes to his greatest horror that the man’s heart has turned into a solid block of iron.

About the Author/作者介绍： Alfredo Colitto was born in Campobasso, studied at Bologna, and has long lived abroad, mostly in Messico, where his first novel, Café Nopal (Alacrán, 2005) was set. His other works are: Aritmia Letale (Giallo Mondadori, 2008), Duri di Cuore (Perdisa, 2008) e Bodhi Tree (Crisalide, 2004). He also wrote several hort stories published in famous anthologies and collections: Killers & Co. (Sonzogno, 2003), Fez, struzzi e manganelli (Sonzogno, 2005), Il ritorno del Duca (Garzanti, 2007), History & Mystery (Piemme, 2008), Anime Nere Reloaded (Mondadori, 2008).
