Jacques Beaulieu, the father, is a psychopath and chess fanatic who believes himself to be the last of the righteous. Michelle, the teenage daughter, seems even more dangerous than her father. Maude, the wife and mother, is obsessed with Jesus christ and blindly follows her husband’s orders. Then there is little Anne, who is mute and has big staring eyes like empty wells.
Yannick Bérubé has one simple goal: he must escape from this loony bin or it will cost him his life, or his sanity!

With a graduate degree in French Literature from the Université de Montréal, he has taught literature, film and theatre at cégep de Drummondville for several years. An enthusiast for artis-tic forms that use suspense, fantasy and horror, he published his first novel in 1994, 5150, rue des Ormes, a book of sustained emotions and tension. in fall of 2009, the book was adapted into a movie and directed by Eric Tessier and script-ed by Patrick Senécal. in January 2010, the movie won the Audience Award at Gerardmer international Fantastique Film Festival.
