About the Author/作者介绍： 保拉.福克斯於1923年4月22號出生於美國紐約市。她的父母均是作家。1948年，保拉嫁給了Richard Sigerson，並育有三個孩子。兩人結婚6年後以離婚而告終。1962年，作者再嫁。

Paula has written many works that were published in a number of American magazines and quarterlies, including Paris Review, Yale Review, Threepenny Review, Confrontation, Playboy, and The New York Review of Books. Two of the stories that are included in Paula’s new collection – “Grace” and “The Broad Estates of Death” -- appeared in Harper’s magazine. Both received O.Henry Awards, and “Grace” was also included in Houghton Mifflin’s Best American Short Stories – 2004.
