About the Author/作者介绍： 希沙姆•馬塔爾的第一本小說《IN THE COUNTRY OF MEN》2006年出版就獲獎連連，入選2006年布克獎決選，獲得英國《衛報》新人新書獎、國家圖書批評家獎、歐洲和南亞英聯邦國家新人新書獎、第四屆英國皇家學會翁達傑文學獎、首屆阿拉伯裔美國文學獎等六大國際大獎，並被譯成28國語言。他的第二本小說《ANATOMY OF A DISAPPEARANCE》2012年出版。
希沙姆•馬塔爾出生在紐約，父母是利比亞人，父親為聯合國利比亞工作組工作。因遭到卡紮菲獨裁迫害，馬塔爾一家流落他國，他的童年在的黎波里和開羅度過，最後在倫敦完成學業。而他的父親在開羅被埃及員警秘密逮捕後遣送回利比亞。這些經歷都成為了馬塔爾的寫作素材。馬塔爾現在住在倫敦，擔任巴納德學院的副教授。
Hisham Matar was born in New York City to Libyan parents and spent his childhood first in Tripoli and then in Cairo. His first novel, In the Country of Men, was published in 2006 and was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize. It has been translated into twenty-eight languages. He lives in London.
