English Summary/英文概要： Thursdays In The Park is a women’s fiction title in the vein of Joanna Trollope or Elizabeth Buchan and is a love story set against the backdrop of a woman’s responsibilites as a mother, a wife and a grandmother. It is about getting older, but not being old; about marriage and about family. The novel opens with a flash back to twelve years previously when Jeanie’s husband suddenly stopped wanting to have sex with her and refused to offer an explanation. He simply ignored her questions and carried on as if everything was normal - and in spite of this their marriage continued as their daughter grew up and they welcomed a baby granddaughter, Ellie, into the family. Now, approaching her 60th birthday, Jeanie meets Ray, a fellow grandparent, when she takes two-year-old Ellie to the park as she does every Thursday - and a romance begins to blossom. Jeanie begins to feel attractive, interesting and sexy again but when her son-in-law gets wind of an affair, she is forced to confess to her daughter...and to her husband. At the point in her life when she should feel free to be herself, Jeanie’s husband finally reveals his shocking secret and Jeanie’s life is turned upside down once again. Can she ever find happiness for herself or will her sense of responsibility keep her tied forever?

About the Author/作者介绍： Hilary Boyd was educated at Roedean and trained first as a nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital, then as a marriage guidance counselor. After a degree in English Literature at London University in her thirties, she moved into health journalism, writing a Mind, Body, Spirit column for the Daily Express. She has published six non-fiction books on health-related subjects such as depression, step-parenting and pregnancy, for publishers such as Mitchell-Beazley, Hodder Mobius and Penguin - her most recent being a pregnancy book with TV presenter, Melanie Sykes. Hilary is married to film director/producer Don Boyd.
