About the Author/作者介绍： 大卫•赫尔顿（David Helton），德克萨斯人，后移居英国。他是记者，也是剧作家，硕果累累，其中由他执笔的《欧洲起源》（The Birth of Europe）获得了艾美奖，他本人也入选了艾美奖最佳编剧提名。他可是个忠实的科学小说迷。

Originally from Texas, David Helton has lived in the UK since 1971. David’s career has encompassed journalism (a reporter on the Houston Press and a sub-editor on The Times) and script-writing: he has written over one hundred and fifty television documentary scripts, as well as some radio scripts. The TV series The Birth of Europe, which he ghost-scripted, won an Emmy; he was nominated for an Emmy as a scriptwriter for the film Rocketships for Discovery; he helped to originate the Eyewitness series for the BBC, PBS and Dorling Kindersley which won a Golden Bear in San Francisco, among others. He has always been a passionate reader of SF.
