Alexander Fiske-Harrison is an English writer and actor. He was born in London and grew up between there and rural East Anglia. He studied biology and then philosophy at the universities of Oxford and then London, and trained in acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory in New York. He is best known for writing and acting in The Pendulum in London’s West End and has contributed to The Times, Sunday Times, The Independent, Financial Times, The Times Literary Supplement, Prospect and Frieze magazines. His research for his book Into The Arena: The World of the Spanish Bullfight, including a year under the tuition of former top matador Eduardo Dávila Miura resulting in him entering the ring himself, led The Times to call him “the bullfighter-philosopher.”
