English Summary/英文概要： Lucky. That’s what everyone calls fifteen-year-old Robie when they learn she lives on a beautiful Pacific island with her parents. Being so removed from civilization doesn’t feel lucky to her, which is why she goes to visit her aunt in Honolulu. But after a brush with danger, Robie hops on the first cargo plane headed back home.

Halfway there, the plane ditches into the ocean during a storm. Robie finds herself in a raft with the severely injured co-pilot, struggling to survive not only the weather and the sea, but the increasing hunger and thirst. Terrified of being alone if the co-pilot does not survive, she discovers that no one may even know they survived the crash. Is she lucky to be alive? Maybe not…

After living on Midway Atoll in the center of the Pacific Ocean for nearly three years, Stephanie Stuve-Bodeen now lives in the state of Oregon. Stephanie teaches fiction writing at the Gotham Writers Workshop and is a guest faculty member of the Whidbey Writer’s Workshop MFA program.

Her recent YA thriller, The Compound, has won many major awards and was published in several translations.
