Riggie’s parents are divorced and his sister Kari has just gone to college. Feeling lonely, he googles Kari’s name. But then he stumbles upon a website on which someone has been taking pictures of his sister without her knowledge. When he shows the website to his mother, an eccentric artist and by nature a grown-up child, she considers it nothing more than a romantic gesture by a secret admirer.
Riggie grows more and more worried until he finally summons the courage to visit his father, a successful businessman who is always critical of his son. His father takes the website seriously, and when they call Kari and hear no response, they end up traveling to her college to make sure she’s safe. Kari is fine, though frightened by the revelation that she has a stalker.
Riggie and his father book a hotel room to stay in the college town, which is where Riggie and his father’s careful cooperation unravels. After leaving the hotel in a rage, Riggie recklessly decides to stalk his sister’s stalker. Outside Kari’s sorority house, Riggie finds the stalker and is attacked and threatened before Kari goes missing. If Riggie is to save his sister before something terrible happens, he must learn to cooperate with his father again and use all the ingenuity he can think up.
