Awards/获奖情况:“Our 21st century lifestyle is causing so many diseases, with hypoglycemia being high on the list. Here is a book that explains in detail the relationship between diet and behavior, and important steps to recovery. It can be easily read with solid facts and simple suggestions. If followed, Roberta Ruggiero’s book can do wonders for not only people with hypoglycemia, but any blood sugar concern.”---Dr. Nancy Appleton, Author, Lick The Sugar Habit

“Not only has Roberta written the book about low blood sugar, but she has lived it. She is a walking encyclopedia. You could call her “The Mother Theresa of Hypoglycemia.” She has unselfishly helped millions. If you have any questions about low blood sugar, you need this book. I’m proud to join her in the ongoing crusade to educate the public about the dangers of sugar and hypoglycemia.”---Connie Bennett, CHHC, CPC, ACC, and Author, Sugar Shock

Roberta Ruggiero is the founder and president of The Hypoglycemia Support Foundation, Inc., and author of The Do’s and Don’ts of Hypoglycemia: An Everyday Guide to Low Blood Sugar, which was acclaimed by the American Library Association as “one of best lay medical books public libraries.” Having overcome ten years of illness–during which she saw dozens of doctors, endured countless medical tests, took thousands of pills and even underwent electric shock therapy–she understands the plight of the hypoglycemic first hand. In her book, she shares with you her own personal experience and the knowledge she’s gained about this baffling disorder.

In 1980, Ms. Ruggiero established The Hypoglycemia Support Foundation, Inc., to inform, support and encourage hypoglycemics and the public about this too often misunderstood and misdiagnosed disease. This organization has enabled her to show how poor nutritional habits and severe nutritional deficiencies affect one’s emotional and physical health.

A frequent guest on radio and television and a well-known speaker, Roberta has also brought her message to the international corporate, medical and educational communities. Presently, Roberta is finishing up two new books and designing a program for schools on the food/mood connection. Her biggest challenge, she feels, is evaluating and publishing her findings on the 5,000 plus responses to her Hypoglycemia/Diabetes Survey.
