English Summary/英文概要： The real stars in this story are the four elementary operations blended into a tale that has its own life. The smartest donkey on the farm decides to go to school to learn the four operations needed to relaunch the farm. When he comes back, with the help of his assi??stant the hen, he holds a master class explaining what these mathematical operations are for and how easy it is to use them. The farm becomes successful and the donkeys find new ways to keep themselves occupied. The tale gives young readers plenty of opportunity for thinking about and solving these maths problems. In the last few pages there are some more short exercises of maths and logic. The story also has some ecological implications.

Anna Cerasoli lives in L’Aquila. She has taught Mathematics in High Schools for thirty years and has written several scholastic textbooks. Now she still writes about mathematics but in a narrative form. She has published three children’s popular scientific books with great success, these books have been translated in many languages: Spanish, French, Korean, Chinese, etc. Besides her writing activity, she also organizes other forms of popularization of mathematics such as meetings at schools, meetings with adults disap??pointed by mathematics, courses for teachers.
Giulia Orecchia has always lived in Milan. She began her art studies at the Liceo Artistico of Brera. Later she studied Visual Design at the Polytechnical School in Milan with Bruno Munari. Her work has appeared in various Italian perio??dicals. Her first children’s book was published in 1983. Since then she has worked with many Italian publishers illustra??ting books and book jackets. She has taught Illustration at the Milan’s IED and occasionally holds workshops. She has been awarded by many prizes.
