HOW TO WIN AT EVERYTHING: EVEN THINGS YOU CAN’T OR SHOULDN’T TRY TO WIN AT

An indispensable irreference guide for securing victory in every conceivable contest, in the vein of The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook, Schott’s Original Miscellany, and the works of John Hodgman. Every short chapter (e.g. “Breaking a Horse,” “Giving Birth,” “Hiding Your Illiteracy”) is comprised of bulleted lists, handy diagrams, step-by-step instructions, and necessary minutiae containing all the pertinent (mis)information required for mastery of the subject. Overflowing with historical, practical, and scientific inaccuracies, the book’s deadpan tone purports it to be nothing less than entirely factual. How to Win at Everything is not a straightforward guide to achieving victory, but rather a rich garden of knowledge from which success will inevitably blossom. By heeding this book’s advice—and pledging to burn every other book on their shelves—readers of How to Win at Everything will learn absolutely nothing, but will laugh out loud on each and every page.

This charming little how-to guide by Chicago-based comedy writers Kibblesmith and Weiner makes a great gift for the clueless and unaccomplished friends in your life (let’s face it, you have plenty of those!). Before you have the chance to gift-wrap it for them, it’s worth thumbing through yourself. "-Flavorwire

About the Author/作者介绍: Daniel Kibblesmith和Sam Weiner是成功的喜剧演员和剧作家。

Daniel Kibblesmith and Sam Weiner are comedy performers and successful copywriters. They began collaborating as two of the earliest employees of Groupon.com, where they helped define the offbeat copywriting and absurdist tone that has won the company press and praise. “Part group purchasing site and part den of neo-Dadaists, Groupon itself obliterates binaries,” says The New York Times, adding “If good advertising is supposed to be memorable, this is very good.” Their work for Groupon has also been cited by Forbes, The Atlantic, and The Wall Street Journal, and influential blog TechCrunch called one example of their work “The Funniest Product F.A.Q. Ever.” Among their websites are http://kibblesmith.tumblr.com/bio.
