KICK BUTTS, TAKE NAMES: IT’S ALL ABOUT FREEDOM
Is your love affair with tobacco finally over? Are you ready to kick butts? Then take names - and plenty of them. Every teacher, every friend, every name in this book shows up with clear intent: to have your back as you Kick Butts and Take Names, your way. Joanna Cummings is a skilled, experienced counselor. She also smoked for over twenty years, starting at age twelve. Joanna tells about her own relationship with tobacco in sometimes aching, sometimes humorous language, a path familiar to many tobacco users, smokers and dippers alike. Her own liberation - and hundreds of conversations with fellow buttheads and buttkickers - led her to formulate this unique and highly effective response to the challenge of tobacco cessation, and more. When two of the four long-term smokers who read the rough draft of this book stopped using tobacco shortly after reading it, the first edition of Kick Butts, Take Names moved quickly to print. Lives have changed in its wake. This second edition of Kick Butts, Take Names is twice the size - and impact - of the first. Part how-to, part resource manual and part personal accounts, this is a guide for freedom from tobacco, and from any number of other restraints in your life. From the first word to the last resource, Kick Butts, Take Names is jam-packed - with people, support and some surprisingly fresh ideas - for your liberation, for your success, on your terms. Kick Butts, Take Names: It’s All About Freedom.

Joanna is a buttkicker who began an intimate relationship with tobacco at the age of 12.
She’s now free of it, and grateful.
She wants every buttkicker seeking freedom from tobacco to have the tools and teachers to make it happen.
She is also Joanna Cummings M.Ed., LMHC, LADAC, NCC, an educator and licensed counselor who has practiced counselling and taught for over twenty years in the U.S. and Canada across a wide range of settings. These settings include drug rehab, military, corrections, couples therapy, empowerment of women and men, adults and adolescents.
Joanna is also skilled in the resolution of conflict and draws on the wisdom of such varied teachers as: the Dalai Lama, Marshall B. Rosenberg, Dhyan Sutorius, Byron Katie, Eddie Izzard, Louise Hay, Gary Craig, Mary Oliver, David Sedaris and Dr. Seuss. Her presentation style is engaging and interactive; reverent and irreverent.
Joanna is also an activist, with undergraduate and graduate studies in communication including media literacy. The insights she shares are from her own experiences and understanding, collaboration with wise teachers and supportive friends, and a ranting, raving obsession with freedom.
