About the Author/作者介绍： 格温•布里斯托，曾就读与哥伦比亚大学普利策分校新闻学院，后嫁给荧屏剧作家布鲁斯•曼宁，夫妻俩定居加州后，布里斯托开始了其第一本关于路易斯安那系列小说，及三部曲的首部，开始了两个家族纠缠不清的命运史，从革命前直至一战。这一三部曲系列包括《盛夏》《光辉之路》以及《荣耀背后》，三部小说在三四十年代一经发行便备受欢迎，其后布里斯托的作品均获得了巨大的成功：《明朝永恒》《西莉亚•加斯》《印花宫殿》及《欢乐节日里的审判》等，她的许多作品均被搬上荧幕，并被译为多国语言。

After studying at the Pulitzer School of Journalism at Columbia University and working as a reporter for the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Gwen Bristow married screenwriter Bruce Manning. The couple moved to California where Bristow began a novel about Louisiana, which became the first of a trilogy that carried two families from pre-Revolutionary days to World War I: Deep Summer, Handsome Road, and This Side of Glory. All three novels, published in the 1930s/1940s, became bestsellers. Other successes followed - Tomorrow Is Forever, Celia Garth, CALICO PALACE and Jubilee Trail. Many of her stories were made into movies, and her novels were translated into a dozen different languages.
