‘Historian and broadcaster Michael Wood is the author of over 120 documentaries and many best-selling books, including In Search of Shakespeare, which is also published by the University of Zhejiang Press. His first book, In Search of the Dark Ages centres on his academic specialism, the medieval roots of British history. He has a special interest in China where he is known for his highly praised TV series The Story of China, his films on Deng Xiaoping’s Reform and Opening Up, and his recent CCTV/BBC film on Du Fu, ’China’s Greatest Poet’. Michael is Professor of Public History at the University of Manchester.’
