She likes to create art out of Mills and Boon books. She likes babies until they start crying. She is the recipient of the 2010 Peter Blazey Fellowship for a manuscript-in-progress based on her grandmother’s life. At the moment it is called "Toyo" but it may eventually be called "The Empress and the Persimmon Tree". She began writing it when she was ten years old.
