And what does Jenny McPhee, matriarch of the Travelling people of the Highlands know of Mrs. Smart’s life that perhaps led to her death? The late nineteen fifties in a small Highland town is a time of change. About the Author/作者介绍： AD斯科特於蘇格蘭高地出生長大，曾就讀於蘇格蘭因弗內斯皇家學院，之後在愛丁堡、倫敦和阿姆斯朗的劇院工作一段時間後加入了蘇格蘭皇家音樂和戲劇學院。80年代中期，她移民到澳大利亞，投身於報刊雜誌撰寫工作。90年代中期，他們舉家遷至越南，她的丈夫曾是越南最炙手可熱的英語報紙編輯。德波拉撰寫短篇小說，這是她的第一部長篇故事，這位說故事的高手，其作品總是能令人引人入勝。

A D Scott was born and brought up in the Scottish Highlands. Educated at Inverness Royal Academy, attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Speech and Drama followed by a period working in theatre in Edinburgh, London and Amsterdam. She emigrated to Australia in the mid 80s, worked in newspapers and magazines. In the mid 90s her family moved to Vietnam, where her husband was the editor of the country’s leading English language newspaper. Deborah writes short stories, this is her first novel. She is the most enchanting storyteller.
