English Summary/英文概要： A black dog appears outside the Hope family’s home. As each member of the household sees it and hides, the dog grows bigger and bigger. Only Small, the youngest Hope, has the courage to face the Black Dog. When it chases her through the forest she shows no fear, so it grows smaller and smaller. Finally, back to the size of a normal hound, the Black Dog is welcomed into the Hope household as their newest addition.

Awards/获奖情况：Black Dog is a charming story of fear and courage and how even the smallest of us can be the bravest of all.
One morning, Mr Hope awakes to a large black dog outside his house. Alarmed, he runs for cover. As each member of the Hope family awakens and their collective fear rises, the dog grows in size until it is bigger than their house.
Only the youngest member of the family, Small, is brave enough to investigate. As Small interacts with the dog as it chases her around, the dog shrinks back to a normal size.
Filled with beautifully illustrated pages, Black Dog is sure to be a household hit. I loved the descriptive text and subtle but busy drawings, and especially the underlying message of how one person’s fear can spread.

An absolute must-have.

About the Author/作者介绍： Levi Pinfold畢業於英國法姆茲美術學院，一直從事自由作家及繪者的工作。他的首部作品The Django 曾入圍英國格林威大獎及榮獲圖書信託基金會的最具潛力繪者奬Best Emerging Illustrator。
Levi Pinfold graduated from University College Falmouth in 2006. Since then he has worked as a freelance author and illustrator. He paints with watercolour and gouache, creating imagery from imagination and memory. His first book, The Django, (Templar, 2010), was longlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal and won a Booktrust Early Years Award naming Levi Best Emerging Illustrator. He lives in Cornwall and plays banjo when no one else is looking.
