Mark Benecke, born in 1970, is a popular expert in criminal biology and forensic entomology. He is the author of many scientific as well as popular texts such as LAUGHING SCIENCE and co-editor of Annals of Improbable Research. He received the Badge of Honour of the «Bund DeutscherKriminalbeamter» (Union of German Criminal Investigators). Mark Benecke lives and works in Cologne.
Lydia Benecke holds an advanced degree in psychology and psychological psychotherapy. She is employed by, among other companies, Benecke International Forensic Research & Consulting, where she works in an advisor, regularly authoring lectures and publicationswithMark Benecke. She has in the meantime also begun making joint public appearances with him. Her areas of specialization include personality disorders, sexually deviant preferences, and trauma disorders.
