Tess agrees: darling you’re a star...sounds fab.Leila has agreed to assume Tess’s identity. Leila’s “Tess” will be pottering around in Sointula, taking a sweet apartment in a clapperboard house, getting a job as a private art tutor, browsing in bric-a-brac shops.
And Tess herself? Tess is going to kill herself.
All goes well, the problems only beginning when one of Tess’s old flames, Connor, gets in touch. Leila thought Tess had told her everything, and she has the notes, charts and databases to show for it, but Tess hadn’t mentioned Connor. . .
KISS ME FIRST is a novel of lies and liars. Some lies are told for good, for love, some for ill – but certainly everybody lies or, at best, is forgetful of the truth. I’ve never read anything like it, and it’s a brilliant, page-turning debut, full of unforgettable characters.

Lottie Moggach is a journalist, and she lives in north London. Brought up in London. Went to Sussex University to read English – dropped out after one term to join The Times. Became a feature writer, book reviewer and columnist there; stayed three years. Has been a freelance since, writing for various newspapers and magazines including the FT (did a regular interview slot for the Weekend section), Time Out, Elle, GQ, etc. Also spent a couple of years on the Arts Desk of the now-defunct freesheet The London Paper.
