THE COLLECTOR OF LOST THINGS is a love story and a quest; set in 1845 aboard a ship bound for the Arctic, about the rescue of a bird, the Great Auk, on the edge of extinction by a lone individual, the Young researcher Eliot Saxby. Saxby joins a regular hunting ship, but the crew and the passengers are not what they seem. Caught in the web of relationships on board, Saxby struggles to understand the motivations of the sociopathic, embroidery-loving Captain Sykes, the silent First Mate French, the flamboyant laudanum-addicted Bletchley and, most importantly of all; Bletchley’s beautiful but strange ‘cousin’ Clara.
As the ship moves further and further into the stormy Arctic sea, Saxby clings to what he believes in, desperate to save Clara, but drawn back into the past that haunts him. And as the ship moves further and further away from civilisation, the atmosphere on board becomes more and more menacing.

About the Author/作者介绍： Jeremy Page成長於英國北諾福克郡，曾在BBC、Film4等頻道…擔任編劇一職多年,並於東英格蘭大學教授創意寫作的碩士課程。與家人定居於倫敦，出版過兩部小說，目前仍持續創作中。
Jeremy Page grew up in North Norfolk and has worked as a script editor and writer for Film4 and the BBC, in addition to teaching on the Creative Writing MA at UEA. He lives in London with his wife and three children. He has published two previous novels with Viking UK and Viking US: Salt and The Wake.
