Nicola Barker was chosen as one of Granta’s Best Young British Writers 2003. She is the author of two short story collections and seven novels including WIDE OPEN (winner of the IMPAC Prize 2000), CLEAR (long-listed for the 2004 Booker Prize and DARKMANS (shortlisted for the 2007 Man Booker Prize and the Ondaatje prize and winner of the Hawthornden). Her work has been translated into twenty languages. She lives in east London.
