About the Author/作者介绍： 罗素·斯坦纳德（Russell Stannard ），1931年生于英国，著名科普作家、物理学家，曾获得英、美两国的多项科普图书奖。他的研究领域是高能物理学，因为其对科普事业做出的杰出贡献，被英女王授予大英帝国勋章。他的经典代表作《与艾尔伯特叔叔一起探索》系列被翻译成二十多种语言，成为无数儿童的物理启蒙读物。

Russell Stannard was formerly Professor of Physics at the Open University at Milton Keynes. He has travelled widely in Europe and the USA, researching high energy nuclear physics. He has received the Templeton UK project award and has spent a year in America as a Visiting Fellow at the Center of Theological Theory, Princeton. He was recently awarded an OBE for services to physics and the popularisation of science.Married with four children of his own and three stepchildren, he vividly remembers the excitement of discovering Einstein’s theories for the first time and he is dedicated to passing this inspiration on the new generations. The Time and Space of Uncle Albert was shortlisted for both the Science Award and the Whitbread Award, and his books have been translated into seventeen different languages.Faber publishes his new novel, Virtutopia, in May 2003.
