Awards/获奖情况：What it’s about: After Moonrise is about a paranormal agency called After Moonrise or A.M. P.C. Cast and Gena Showalter each write a story involving the agency in some way. Cast’s novella, Possessed, is about twins (one is dead and one is seeking help) and a psychic who can "sense" and track negative emotions. Haunted, by Showalter, is about an artist and a detective who both experience "blackouts" related to a serial killer.
Why you should read it: Gena Showalter is one of the authors on my must-read list, so of course I jumped at the chance to read Haunted. It’s very mysterious and exciting. She doesn’t skimp on the blood, gore or action. Her heroes are always hot, and her heroines are either butt-kickers or have a core of strength beneath the surface. I really enjoyed reading Haunted! Possessed was a bit harder for me. I love Cast’s writing style; I’ve enjoyed her Goddess by Mistake series as well as most of the House of Night series. What was hard for me in this one was the twin concept. One twin is dead and haunts the other twin. The living twin "takes one for the team" and allows her dead sister to "drive" her to have relations with the hero. I won’t spoil the ending but ... it was uncomfortable for me. Having said that, I still liked the writing, and the plot was appealing.
About the Author/作者介绍： P.C. Cast was born in Watseka, Illinois, and grew up being shuttled back-and-forth between Illinois and Oklahoma, which is where she fell in love with Quarter Horses and mythology (at about the same time). After high school she joined the United States Air Force and began public speaking and writing. Since her tour in the USAF, she has been speaking and teaching professionally.
Ms. Cast is an award winning fantasy and paranormal romance author. Her novels have been awarded the prestigious: Prism, Holt Medallion, Daphne du Maurier, Booksellers’ Best, and the Laurel Wreath.
