Robert Rowland Smith began his career as an Oxford don, becoming a management consultant in the US in the 1990s. Since then he has worked with organisations as diverse as HSBC, The Foreign Office, advertising world leader WPP and the Catholic Church. Now based in London, he divides his time between writing, lecturing and advising senior executives.
