Margeurite and Sophie are constantly aspiring to the considerate thoughtful behaviour of Camille and Madeleine but through their adventures all four learn to be responsible for their actions and steadfast loyalty. With gentle humour and engaging characters this story is a delight for girls everywhere.

About the Author/作者介绍： Sophie, Countess of Ségur（1799-8-1到1874-2-9）出生在俄羅斯的法國作者。她最出名的作品就是小說集“Les Malheurs de Sophie” ("Sophie’s Misfortunes")。故事發生在法國第二帝國時期的法國鄉村，和爸爸媽媽一起住在城堡裡的索菲以及他的表哥保爾的故事。索菲對一切都好奇，熱愛冒險，一次又一次地惹麻煩，總要保爾來給她指條明路。Camille 和Madeleine de Fleurville是索菲的兩個朋友，也是她要努力模仿的“乖乖女”，但她知道人生路本不順利。St. Therese of Lisieux就是讀“索菲”的故事長大的。

Countess of Ségur的書1857年到1872年由阿歇特出版社以“插圖粉色童書集”出版。1990年再版。
