Last week, American rights were bought by Jo’s option publisher, Knopf and UK rights were pre-empted by Doubleday, while film rights were acquired by Random House together with Focus Features, Spanish rights by Lumen and Italian rights by Einaudi. Norwegian rights were pre-empted over the weekend by Glydendal Norsk and Gyldendal Dansk pre-empted Danish rights yesterday. A German auction is on-going and there are currently offers in France and Holland, as well as strong interest elsewhere.
