Along with the human drama, the nature of the region emerges: a wild, inaccessible island where things retain their ancient meaning, where the light is violent and lost smells linger in the air. In the background, Fascism, the post-war era and the reconstruction of the country go by indifferent to human suffering.

About the Author/作者介绍： 安娜．玛利亚1967年出生于佛罗伦萨，她的童年和青少年时代在撒丁岛度过。1988年，她离开了岛转会到她目前生活和工作的佛罗伦萨。《阿尔来普瑞的（兔子岛）》是她的处女作。Anna Maria Falchi was born in Florence in 1967 and spent her childhood and teenage years in Sardinia. In 1988, she left the island to move to Florence, where she currently lives and works. L’isola delle lepri is her debut novel.
