English Summary/英文概要： Stay began her life as ‘Girl’, a fibreglass collection box for the Guide Dog Association, doomed to lead an unexciting, if worthy existence in Hobart, until she is stolen by a penguin researcher nicknamed ‘Chills’ while on leave from Antarctica. As the last living dogs who make up the husky teams are being sent home as a result of new environmental laws, Chills decides to protest against this by using Girl as a mascot.

Renamed ‘Stay’, she survives a hazardous voyage by boat through the Southern Ocean to Davis Station. Once there, she becomes a much-loved part of the Antarctic community, moving from base to base at the whim of whoever steals her next, being photographed, and even tumbling down a crevasse.

During all of her adventures though, Stay also has to endure the hostility of the huskies, who can’t make out if she’s real or not. And when it’s finally time for Stay to go home she decides to remain, and with the help of Nuts (the helicopter pilot who is, indeed, crazy) and Kaboom, a friendly weather observer, finds a permanent home in Antarctica, where she still resides.

Based on a true story, Stay even has her own Facebook page where her many friends are active in posting photos and comments.
