Amitai Etzioni is professor of international relations at The George Washington University. He served as president of the American Sociological Association. He was professor of sociology at Columbia University, guest scholar at the Brookings Institute, senior advisor to the White House under Jimmy Carter, and Thomas Henry Carroll Ford Foundation Professor at Harvard Business School. He is the author of over twenty books, including Security First: For A Muscular, Moral Foreign Policy, and From Empire to Community: A New Approach to International Relations.
