THE CHURCH OF FEAR
Book ID/图书代码: 10703013B61698
English Summary/英文概要: Award-winning journalist John Sweeney investigated the Church for more than half a decade and during that time he was threatened, intimidated, spied on and followed. He interviewed many former Scientologists who told him heartbreaking stories of families torn apart and lives ruined at the hands of the Church and he also spoke to current believers, including Hollywood superstars, who say it is the solution to all mankind’s problems. Sweeney’s own experience with the Church caused him to lose his temper with their spokesman on camera in the infamous ‘exploding tomato’ clip and left him in fear of losing his mind.
In The Church of Fear Sweeney pulls together all his years of painstaking research to paint a gripping picture of this strange organisation. This is the real story of how the Church became and remains international headline news, written by the reporter who was brave enough to take it on. The Church of Fear is a powerful and moving book which shines new light into one of the most darkly fascinating institutions the world has ever seen.
