Awards/获奖情况:In 1991, Maeve Haran scored a bestseller with Having It All, one of the first novels to acknowledge the problems of juggling a career and motherhood. Here she seems likely to strike a similar chord with the over-60s . . . Haran is far too skilled a story-teller for the book to read like an exercise in box-ticking. The characters’ own liveliness is reflected in a warm and often funny page-turner that strikes just the right balance between melancholy and defiance (James Walton, Readers Digest)
Maeve Haran,sixty-something and author of the ground breaking 1990s blockbuster Having It All has joined the party with this delightful take on the enduring power of female friendship. If 60 is the new 40 then this is the new chicklit . . . a funny, feisty novel (The Daily Express, Caroline Jowett) Lively (Sainsbury’s Magazine)

Maeve Haran, an Oxford law graduate and former TV producer, has written eleven contemporary novels, including the worldwide bestseller HAVING IT ALL, which has sold round the world and been translated into twenty-six languages, as well as THE FROTH ON THE CAPPUCCINO, evoking life’s small pleasures.
She took up writing after the birth of her second child and combines it with journalism and writing short stories. She lives in north London with her Scottish TV executive husband and their three children and has a cottage in the Sussex downs.
She became obsessed with John Donne, the metaphysical poet, while at her convent boarding school, and it is this lifelong passion which has inspired and informed her first historical novel, THE LADY AND THE POET, published in 2009.
Her latest novel, THE PAINTED LADY, was published in June 2011; set against the drama of the Great Plague and the Fire of London, THE PAINTED LADY brings to life the vibrant and decadent court of Charles II, and in Frances Stuart discovers a passionate young woman prepared to fight for her own destiny.
