Hugh Williams has worked in television and the media in the UK for the past forty years. He held a variety of senior editorial and management posts at the BBC before leaving it to work in broadband television where for the past ten years he’s been one of the pioneers in the creation of television services delivered through broadband technology.

His love of history led him to write his first book: 50 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BRITISH HISTORY, published by Harper Collins in June 2009. His next book: 50 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WORLD HISTORY was published in September 2010.

Hugh is married and has two children and two step-children. He lives in London, but escapes to a house in Devon as often as he can.
