English Summary/英文概要： For as long as she can remember, sixteen-year-old Sky has lived on the Island, a small uninhabited island in the South Pacific. For most of her life she lived there with her mother, a man named Helmut, and Helmut’s son, River. But since her mother and Helmut’s death a year earlier, her entire world is River and their life together on the Island. It’s a simple life, where they rely on their world and each other for their survival.Sky loves her life on the Island, until one afternoon when River breaks a cardinal rule, swims past the fishing cove, and spots a boat. Before long, the boat has docked on the Island, and the two men on board claim they are there to rescue them. Against Sky’s better judgment, River convinces her to leave the Island with them.
But across the Pacific, in a strange place called California, suddenly nothing makes sense. And when Sky learns who she really is and how she got to the Island in the first place, she must face the fact that maybe her life on the Island wasn’t as perfect as she thought, and that everything she’s ever known and loved has been a lie.
