After working as a designer in the fashion industry for seven years, in 2007 Wendy began teaching dressmaking, pattern cutting and textiles at various adult education centres throughout Brighton, UK.
In 2012, she opened MIY Workshop (www.miyworkshop.co.uk) in central Brighton where she has a busy timetable of teaching dressmaking and pattern cutting, alongside creating new designs for her sewing pattern brand MIY Collection (www.miycollection.co.uk).
Wendy has a degree in Fashion Design, an MA in Design and is a qualified teacher. She is a regular contributor to Sewing World magazine and in 2013 she was nominated in Sew Magazine’s Best of British Sewing Awards in the ’Best for Sewing Workshops/Courses’ category and was awarded 3rd place out of the whole of the UK.
Wendy has been a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen since 2011.
When not sewing or creating, Wendy is to be found outdoors walking her little terrier Gypsydog.
