the rim of Mount St. Helens to witness
a dome-building eruption. Her book
on the eruption, Will It Blow?, was a
Washington Reads pick and a Natural
History Magazine Best Book of the Year.
Her award-winning writing can be
found in books such as The Mighty Mars
Rovers, The Planet Hunter, and For the
Love of Music and magazines such as
Smithsonian and Backpacker. She lives
in Portland, Oregon, surrounded by
Cascade volcanoes.
