About the Author/作者介绍： 膝下五个孩子相继长大之后，夏洛特??贝茨法系自己对写作充满了热情。在为酒店设计的职业生涯中，迫使她在忙中抽闲，用八年时间完成了七部小说作品。其中有几部作品甚至入围作家协会的‘新闻真实作家’奖，她的短篇小说也曾在五部作品的激励竞赛单元中脱颖而出。夏洛特不仅是某杂志的定期撰稿人，本人还是浪漫小说和观察家协会会员。Charlotte Betts began her working life as a fashion designer in London. A career followed in interior design, property management and lettings.
Always a bookworm, Charlotte discovered her passion for writing after her three children and two step-children had grown up. The Apothecary’s Daughter is her debut novel and won the YouWriteOn Book of the Year in 2010, the Romantic Novelists’ Association Joan Hessayon Award for New Writers in 2011 and the RoNA’s Historical Category award for 2013. The sequel, The Painter’s Apprentice was published in 2012 and shortlisted for the Festival of Romance’s Best Historical Read Award in 2012.
