Ed Linz has the heart of a woman - literally. In 1994 he was fortunate to receive a life-saving heart transplant operation and has been forever grateful to his donor, Monica, and her family. It is his hope that this novel, along with his earlier book, Life Row, will motivate others not only to appreciate the wonders of organ and tissue transplantation, but to sign up to become donors.
Ed spent his early years on a farm in Kentucky. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy, and following commissioning in 1965, spent 20 years in the Submarine Force, including command of the nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, USS KAMEHAMEHA (SSBN 642). In 1985 he began teaching high school science and mathematics while coaching track and cross country. He continued in the teaching profession until his retirement in 2011.
Ed now writes and lectures throughout the country on education topics, including his current passion, the intersection of science and special education. His latest projects are a workbook for STEM courses entitled, Electrical Circuit Sudoku, and an oral history of the Great Depression, They Never Throw Anything Away.
