About the Author/
Colette Caddle is an Irish novelist living in Dublin. Her books come under the heading of ’commercial women’s fiction’ also sometimes known as ’chick-lit’. She worries that the latter label may lead people to think her books are full of hot, steamy romps - because they’re not. Neither are they about stunning rich women, car chases, murders or ghosts - though occasionally spirits make an appearance but they are of the alcoholic variety.
When asked exactly what her stories ARE about,Colette will probably shrug and say ’people’. And that single word sums up a Caddle novel. Her tales are about ordinary people who find themselves in extraordinary situations and then it is a matter of watching and wondering if they’ll sink or swim.
Caddle’s talent is in drawing you into the lives of her characters and, before you know it, you are living through each trauma with them and the housework is forgotten and the dinner is burnt.
