She also does monthly book reviews for Dougal Stevenson’s Dunedin Diary programme on Channel 9 Television. Overkill (2007) was her first fiction novel and Vanda was ecstatic when Penguin New Zealand decided not only did they want to publish it, but they wanted a series of crime fiction novels about Sam Shephard. They loved Sam as much as she did. The second in the series The Ringmaster was published in 2008 and the third, Containment, in 2009.
