As a documentary producer, I found this book to be an incredible resource. For a lot of us filmmaking types, it’s a harsh reality when we have a great documentary idea, we have the vision and passion for our film and then all momentum seems to slowly drain away as we try to convince funders that our idea is worthy of their support. Morrie Warshawski totally gets this and does a fantastic job demystifying the fundraising process and breaking it down into simple step-by-step guidelines. He reveals important truths about the fundraising process and provides tons of great tips and tricks to help you find funding for your film. I truly wish I had read this book much much sooner.

I am a consultant and writer specializing in working with nonprofits that are trying to have greater impact in their communities. I help them through strategic planning. I also work with independent filmmakers on career development. My practice is grounded in the core values of tolerance, thoughtfulness, transparency and creativity. I have two books available on fundraising - THE FUNDRAISING HOUSEPARTY and SHAKING THE MONEY TREE, as well as a number of now out-of-print poetry chapbooks.
