Wendell Wilson, a taxidermist, and Frank Clifton, a WWII veteran, have made a whole life together in utter seclusion, since they first met and fell in love in the days immediately following the war. By severing nearly all ties to the outside world, the pair carves a home for themselves in the wilderness on the far outskirts of a declining textile town in North Carolina, where for decades the routine of domesticity and self-reliance seems to protect them. Iowa MFA Matt Griffin has crafted a poignant debut novel, steeped in the art of taxidermy and the elderly couple’s love of live courtroom TV.

About the Author/作者介绍： Matthew Griffin，Wake Forest大学及Iowa作家培训学校毕业生。他在北卡罗来纳州出生并长大，现在与伴侣住在路易斯安那州，在路易斯安那大学担任客座教授。这是他的处女作。Matthew Griffin is a graduate of Wake Forest University and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He was born and raised in North Carolina and currently lives with his partner in Louisiana, where he is a visiting professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This is his first novel.
